I don’t make it out why the educated fraternity as great as the journalists are behaving like this. the string that started from Bush seems to start the shoe culture. days are not far when the journalists and all the ppl attending the press conference will not be allowed to wear the shoes! This is not the right way! Don’t replace pen with shoe.

Exactly! I totally support your words. If a journalist cannot control his emotions, he should resign from his position first, then arm himself with shoes to do what he was unable to do with a pen.

I sympathize with such journalists who are unable to stand the pressure, especially of emotional nature. It gives an idea that the profession was dumped on his shoulders. Pity!

This is the 1st time that any Indian politician has been thrown upon a shoe by a journalist but otherwise they are well experienced.

We all know its their favorite past time to throw shoes at each other during the parliament sessions.

After 9/11, Bush took the lesson and did not let happen a single attack on the US. You people are guaranteed security and justice by your leaders.

Here the case is opposite. Any Indian can be killed anytime under a terrorist attack anywhere on the street inspite of so many attack. Think about it, its serious. But our leaders do not take it seriously because they and their families are secure in the hands of commandoes.

They deserve the treatment that they get. ITs high time and we need people in politics who are serious about their jobs.

The sikhs are and will always be regarded as the most courageous Indians. What this journalist has done is what we all want to do but never had the guts to carry out that. It really doesnt matter whether it is a civilized way of protest or not. There will be a time when the politicians will really be embarrassed to face the public.This is certainly the beginning.

The act of journalist can not be justified. However it points out to the disconnect between politicians and citizens. Leave aside the technical and legal aspects...Fact of the matter is that massacre of thousands of innocent sikhs was committed with political patranoge.What is the compulsion to give tickets to these tainted politicians...Society will be much better if they remain out of parliament..

What is the temperature now in Nagpur,may be 40C.

Some riots are instantaneous.Are not Maharashtrian Brahmins targetted while Gandhijee was assasinated. Muslims were targetted at Godhra. Mr.Chidambaram said that he has pardoned him. Law takes its own course.

There is nothing to feel happy about it.

Jarnail Singh,(not journal singh fortunately) too an hasty decision but it was not furtive. It has to be condemned in strong words. He job is to write whatever is in anguish.

The cult of shoe tossing has become quite normal. There must be a ban on shoes while the VIPs are interviewed in closets.

I am not really in favor of throwing shoes. Having said that, this is a democracy and every citizen has the right to answers and what Mr. Jarnail did is purely out of frustration. Sikhs have been patient for 25 years and now its time that we see some justice happening. Wake up Mr. C, you have to face and address questions. If not today, then when... how long do we have to wait and be patient??

Throwing shoe is not a solution. It may reflect the anger but does not really penalize the culprits. Why people like Jarnail Singh don’t involve themselves in politics. Why the Congress gets the votes of Sikhs?
