I think the shop keeper over-reacted,may be he was frustrated at some thing he took out all his frustrations on one defenceless kid.Yes what the boy did was wrong but he did not deserve such inhumane punishment

It’s the problem with us. We always search for excuses. you are calling this just an over reaction! No it’s not so. It’s the reality and so many children face such situation daily. Should we think that in fact the shop keeper had no such intention of beating the child and it was just by chance. Try to accept the reality.

No doubt the boy did wrong...theft can’t be justifiedand it is elders’ duty to correct him...make him understand that theft is a crime....

another point to notice if small kids like Vivek stole a chocolate or cake I would sure that it is hunger that drove him to steal..but he can’t eat egg after stealing..he has to cook it.

It is shame for our society that many parents do not teach moral values to their children in young age.

But beating the boy like this only proved how cruel the shopkeeper was...
