It is the nightmare of the working parents come true. When both parents go out to work and unfortunately have to leave their infants in strange hands they are a worried lot. I know I used to be one, leaving my son in the hands of nanny whom you have to trust implicitly for the only reason because you have no choice, your baby is too small to tell you about any misbehaviour he had to face during the long day. I was unable to bear the pressure so I quit my job but many do not have this option like this couple in Bangalore.

Little did they knew that the nanny they had hired to look after their seven months old boy was a devil in disguise. Oh, she was appointed through a regular agency which is highly recommended but no one can even fathom what goes on in anybody’s mind.

This dame when left alone with the baby used to sedate him and change his clothes with rags and than rent him out, yes you read it correctly, rent the baby out to professional beggars for the whole day for Rs 100/-. Then she used to enjoy the whole day watching TV eating the best food and relaxing in the comfortable bed and in the evening when the baby was brought back she changed his clothes, ready for his parents.

Well, one day the mother came home early to find the maid alone in the house and the baby missing, naturally she panicked, on questioning the nanny the whole sordid story of greed and callousness came to light.

Then the couple realised that why their baby was lethargic during evenings in weekdays and alert during weekends. But as per the report the couple is not pressing any charges against the maid but wants to remain anonymous away from the media, reports have it that they are planning to shift abroad. But as per Bangalore State Children Commission a suo motto case will be registered against the nanny.

There are reasons when one wants to earn more money but to drug and sedate a helpless infant who is totally dependent on you and breaking the trust reposed in you by his parents is unacceptable. One shudders to even think what drugs this evil female had been giving the baby and whether these could cause further harm. She does not deserve any mercy.

This is the news which is nearly in every newspaper. the “But” is because we lost the match by 3 runs playing against Australia. Why is it we always undermine great achievements if some things do not go the way we want.

Why can’t we be wholehearted in appreciating a great player,they could have given two news one about only Sachin and other about the match.I think that would have been totally justified.

And here I was thinking that I live in a Democratic India where the Government is by the people, of the people, for the people and so on and so forth.And erroneously thought I would have some say in how the things should run.

I thought, no ,I was expected to be a proud Indian when Delhi bagged the hosting of Common Wealth Games, tha was some six or seven years ago, that time since I was not involved anywhere but when I read the news forced down my throat shouted from the roof tops and huge billboards the expenses were borne by me also, through taxes, of course.I started taking wee bit of interest in the ongoing preparations which were going on at snail’s pace anyway. Somewhere down the line I think everyone lost interest.

The flats in the top-notch locations will be coveted and taken by some enterprising persons.The stadiums as usual will be out of bounds for the truly deserving and as it has happened in past will happen in future also for any Olympic medal we would need a Bindra or some very lucky boxers who despite every drawbacks will win a deseving medal.

If the Goverment could shell out crores for a ten days affair why not shell out much less and give us a stable economy where we don’t have to pay through our nose for even for an infant’s milk.Where we don’t have to choose between the more essentials and less essentials like vegetables and lentils, where before climbing in a public transport one does not have to count the money in his pocket and prefer walking the rest of the way.

And the best part is this extra money is touted as a loan to the Organising Committee Commonwealth Games 2010 which would repay it form the revenues it will generate about 1708 crores. But the catch is the difference between the expected inflow and expenses considerably thinning out the Government Officials are suggesting there might be a need for the Government to write off a portion of loan.

A university lecturer flew to the Channel Islands to have sex with a 13-year-old girl he met online, a court was told yesterday, he set up the whole stage by grooming the teenager for months on a networking site.

Police are hunting a man who allegedly raped a woman in front of her three-year-old son after they arranged a meeting online. The mother, 23, had seen the man, known as Derek, in person several times after they initially met via the internet.

Ashleigh Hall, 17, whose body was found lying in a ditch in Sedgefield, County Durham, after she had arranged to meet someone she met on a social networking website. The trainee nursery nurse had believed she was going to meet a 16-year-old boy she had become friends with online.

We are not animals, I was watching Discovery Channel and saw a mother Zebra giving birth to the young one, unfortunately he was deformed and could not get up. The whole herd was grazing nearby but no one came near, at the first danger signal the Zebras started running away, the helpless mother stayed for sometime with the sick baby but ultimately she also ran away, knowing that he cannot be saved.

We are also becoming indifferent, maybe practical without any emotions. If we see any one being ill-treated we just walk on why should we interfere in matters which does not concern us, stories of how accident victims have lost their lives because of this apathy are numerous.

Why are we behaving like this,because of the retribution, a common man fears that if he helps someone he will be punished by the endless rounds of police-station or courts and a time will come when the case will become so long drawn that he will be cursing himself for his good deed.

Well, those in power do these acts because they have no fear of any retribution. They know that no major action will be taken against them, so why not go ahead and torture someone.After all who will punish them. A very sad state of affairs indeed.

Vereen was arrested in July after Barbara Kenley caught him entering the barn at Lazy B Stables in Longs, about 20 miles (32 kilometers) northeast of Myrtle Beach. She had been staking out the stable for more than a week after setting up a surveillance camera and videotaping Vereen’s assault on her 21-year-old horse named Sugar.

And mind it it was not his first time, in 2007 also Kenley found him asleep in the hay after assaulting her horse. For that offence, he also pleaded guilty to buggery, received probation and had to register as a sex offender.

On Wednesday, the judge sentenced Vereen to five years in prison, but he will only have to serve three years behind bars as long as he successfully completes two years of probation. Vereen also was ordered to undergo additional mental treatment after he gets out of prison and was told to stay away from Kenley’s stable.

Vereen says he was sorry for he had done , he did not mean to do it, it was his fault and he was sorry for what he has done to himself.

A 22 year old man from Saudi Arabia has been awarded this death sentence, he is to be beheaded and crucified after he was found guilty of luring and raping kids from age group three and seven. He was said to have lured them into his car as they left school at midday and then drove them to remote desert locations to rape them.
An appeal court in the capital Riyadh approved the death sentence handed down in June by judges in the northwestern oasis city of Hail where the convicted 22-year-old man carried out his crimes.

The rapist was arrested several weeks ago on behest of a seven year old boy whom he unsuccessfully tried to rape. The boy also identified him in court.

An investigation was launched after a 25-year-old father reported that his three-year-old son was missing and that he suspected the kidnapper to be a male driver of a white four-wheel drive vehicle.
The infant was later found under a scorching sun in the desert where he had died of thirst.

Finally, after £18,000 ($41,500) of cosmetic surgery, Reza found his dream woman with whom he fell in love. His only grouse now is the cost of new wardrobe he has to buy after each breast enhancement.

Of course Cany is thrilled with her new improved body and changed from a dowdy waitress to a busty model.

Reza is naturally thrilled about the changes and he does not shy away from boasting that he almost felt like God, doing better than the nature. He is not ruling out further surgeries in future also, because obviously with age Cany will be requiring nips and tucks.

26 year old B.Sivakumar was mentally challenged, he lived in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Being mentally disabled he used to throw stones on passing trains and buses, poor creature belonged to a mental asylum so as not to harm himself and others.

On Thursday two supposedly absolutely normal policemen, came to investigate the charges against him. Sivakumar though not in his right senses perhaps recognised the power and the torture which sometimes go with the uniform, perhaps he was intuitive.

So when they came near him brandishing their batons he tried to escape, they hit him and to escape the torture he jumped into the sea, all the time pleading with the policemen to spare him. The TV grabs show Sivakumar pleading with the policemen in the sea to spare him while one of them is swinging the baton hitting Sivakumar on hand while the other one was fast closing in on Sivakumar.

Poor, innocent Sivakumar, he was not in his right senses so he never knew what he was doing was wrong but these two policemen was totally aware of their action and they were beating a mentally challenged man delibrately.

Sivakumar while trying to escape the pain was washed away by a tidal wave but even as he was carried away to his death his hands were folded perhaps still optimistic that somehow he will be spared the torture, perhaps he was pleading to be spared totally unaware of the fact that within few moments he will no longer need the mercy of these mortals. His body was found near the shores.

The Deputy general Inspector of Police Anura Senanayake of the Colombo crime division has ordered an inquiry. But there will always be a question mark on the manner in which these policemen treated Sivakumar, a little compassion could have perhaps saved a life.

Baby RB is just one year old, he has an active brain but that is all, he is not a normal one year old, he is suffering from congenital myasthenic syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that causes muscle weakness.

It has severely limited Baby RB’s movement and his ability to breathe independently. Baby RB is thought to be one of only about 300 people in the UK with congenital myasthenic syndrome, which affects sufferers to varying degrees. He has a very severe form.

The condition is the result of a gene abnormality which disrupts the transmission of signals between the nerves and muscles, resulting in muscle weakness. Some people with a mild form of the syndrome can lead relatively normal lives, but other sufferers die within days of birth. There is no cure but drugs can be used to improve symptoms.

BabyRB’s parents both in their twenties love him very much and both are spending most of their time with him, but they have separated amicably.

Now the hospital where Baby RB is admitted wants to withdraw the life support on which the very life of BabyRB depends because they feel that baby’s quality of life is so poor that it will not be in his interest to keep him alive and the hospital is planning to get a court order in order to do so.In this it is supported by the baby’s mother.

The father however has taken a totally different stand he feels that since his beloved son is not brain dead ,he is aware of his surroundings, can hear, feel and also recognise his parents,so a simple tracheotomy, which creates an opening in the neck to deliver oxygen to the lungs, would allow his son to be discharged and cared for at home.

One cannot but sympathise with the parents, both are right and paradoxically both are wrong, the irony is that both want the best for their beloved son.One cannot call mother evil because she wants to end her child’s life and at the same time the father wants to keep alive his son whose chances to lead a normal life are nil but his pain increasing with his age cannot be ruled out.

Should one be practical like the mother or emotional like the father is the devil’s choice and I pray that no other parent would have to face such a choice. The case was supposed to go to the London High Court today.
