Jaya rathore, Meera and Muzaffar Ali, Jyotee Khaitan, Swapan and Seema Sumeet Verma, Rohit Bal all these names have been forced down my throat since last three four days and all I mean all newspapers are full of photographs of oddly dressed models, what do they say, sashaying down the ramp literally glaring at everyone and sundry, than there are pictures of still more strangely dressed persons most of them with drinks in hands their names do not ring even a tiny bit of tinkle in my memory bell.

Who are these people and why are they occupying such a huge space in our daily life? Well, they are the Fashion personnas, the same ones whose bags are always packed and they are most of the time out of India attending the other International Fashion shows and if someone gets a coverage in the International fashion media their life is made.

This time the Bollywood also stepped down and there were Katrina, Ranbeer, Urmila, Manoj Bajpai, Neil and others who were lapping up all the attention, as if they lack it. One aberration who stood out prominently was our erstwhile MP Jaya Prada, showcasing a real hideous apparel and she had the audacity to show her oh very overblown figure, twirling round like she is still the svelte beauty that she was in yesteryears. Some people really live in their make believe world, don’t they.

The whole coverage made me think about these people, and the overlapping fashion shows we seem to be having week in week out. The fashion world in total is beyond a common person like me comprehension. The dresses they design and the models who wear them seems to give out a loud and clear message, oh, all you ignoramus these are not for you, you don’t have the necessary intelligence to understand what we are trying to tell the world and excuse me you don’t belong to that world.

The crazy outlandish dresses are simply attention seekers but even their so called wearable dresses are beyond the reach of common Indian, imagine wearing one and getting in a crowded Delhi Transport Bus, there are chances you may be jeered and hounded out.

Just one question. why is so much importance being given to people who are just a miniscule percentage of the total population, just give them their Page Three, that is more than enough and cover or give news which is of interest to rest.
