This is a strong message to all those who harrass their brides for dowry going to the extent of burning them alive.This pain of being poured over kerosene and than burned to death was belatedly felt by our Apex Court The Supreme Court.

This is a landmark comment which The vacation bench of Justices Markandya Katju and Deepak Verma made when the Bail application for the convict for bride burning case, Mahendar Kumar Gulati came up.

They said that burning a woman by pouring kerosene on her is a barbaric and uncivilized act and one should be hanged to death for it. They strictly refused to grant bail to the accused saying that he could try his luck in front of another bench.

As per dying statement of Rajani,Mahender’s wife had indicted him,his brother and brother’s wife for constantly harassing her and ultimately setting her on fire in their house in Bhiwani, Haryana .

One can only hope that such stricture would act as a deterrent for all those greedy devils in human form whose only God is Money. They are prepared to go to any length to acquire it, even to the extent of killing an innocent girl that too in such a painful manner.Tragically the females of that household also instigate their male members to commit such barbaric act.

Unfortunately such cases of bride Burning are on the rise despite people being aware of this malady which is making a mockery of the spread of education especially female education.

She can be a true life partner in every field but it seems that the lure of easy money from the girl’s family is too strong to be ignored
