Tamiflu - Use Judiciously

What with the Swineflu or more correctly H1N1 virus reaching epidemic proportions with news of more and more patients infected by it coming every second or it seems.there is one so called wonder drug which is prescribed for all and sundry Tamiflu.

It is a very strong antiviral drug and a very disturbing research report has been published in the British medical Journal by two Scientists Dr. Carl Heneghan a GP and an expert from John Redcliff Hospital in Oxford who says that Tamiflu is unfortunately not a magic bullet. He and his fellow researcher Dr. Mathew Thompson a GP and a researcher at the Oxford university did a study of four studies of children 1 to 12 half of them were advised tammflu and the other half just rest ad recuperation the latter recovered one day earlier. This proved that bee fit of drugs was not statistically significant but the after effects of such strong drugs were very dangerous.

1)Vomiting and diarrhea
2)Nausea
3)problems concentrating and feeling dazed
4)Nightmares and problems in sleeping
5)headache
6)stomach and cramps

Dr. Heneghan said that the downside of harms outweighs the one day reduction in sympotatic benefits. He had a very practical formula, children not very ill should be treated with rest and plenty of drinks to cool high temperatures but it was the duty of the parents to be on their gaurd for any signs that their child is getting worse In that case immediate medical help is required.

In fact, he said that injudicious use of tamiflu could make the virus drug resitant and more powerful. In its safety first approach the department of Health has been handing out Tamiflu at the first symptom of cold and cough and fever.

This is just a giant scam. Create the scare of the flu and then offer the product just in time. Like creating a market, and then taking advantage of it.

Most people don't understand Tamiflu anyway. Tamiflu may only be useful in the early beginning of a flu! Doctors prescribe Tamiflu even if people have the flu already for one week.

Tamiflu has been banned in Japan for use in those under 18, Tamiflu is not safe in the use of children or teenagers. The swine flu, the same swine flu from the 70's will not cause any more damage than the regular flu. We all need to improve our immune system.
