Stop Blaming A Dead Child, Mr. Azad

Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad our “honourable” health Minister have gone off track again first he wanted people to wtch TV to stop population explosion now he is blaming Reeda, 14, a school kid who became the first victim of Swine Flu for spreading the virus in Pune. As per him Reeda must have infected nearly 80 persons because she went to at least three hospitals when she was ill as swine flu is very infectious any person who came in contact with the infected child would have got infected.

This is the senseless reasoning he is giving for the spread of HINI virus so rapidly in Pune. he is not blaming his on ministry for not providing proper guidance to the hospitals regarding the deadly flu despite having inputs from the World health Organisation. He is not blaming himself for not giving due attention to the seriousness of the problem.

Instead he is blaming a dead child with a total disregard for the feelings of the family who have lost their lovely child. Naturally they are infuriated by the total indifferent and callous statement of the top most person responsible for looking after the health of the nation. Reeda’s emotional mother in a press conference is demanding a public apology and failing to do so should resign.

In fact she said it was because of Reeda’s death that sudden awareness was created and people have become aware that swine flu has finally arrived in India and they are rushing to the hospitals to get themselves checked for flu like symptoms which previously they were taking it lightly. She also said that Reeda sacrificed her life but at least some good has come out of it.

Trust our callous politicians to put the blame of their inefficiency on the head of others to save their own skin so what if that other is a dead child. t is time that they stop playing blame game and start taking some positive steps to contain this deadly threat.

Gulam nabi Azad should be kicked off his position for making such an irresponsible statement and for not doing what he should have done being the health minister of country.

I don't think Azad has said something wrong. He just told the truth. His intention was not wrong.

It is common in India to blame somebody even for natural calamities and problems. It is also common to politicize any tragedy so that the politicians can make the most of it and take advantage of it in the elections. Swine flu is a worldwide problem and has to be tackled without the politics. But then in India anything and everything is politics only.
