Out Of Mouths Of Babies

Children are innocent, children are guileless and above all children are truthful and honest. They do not practice the art of false diplomacy but are outspoken and say whatever they feel is right and what they observe without any changes whatsoever.

This six year old Chinese girl did the same. When other children of her age were interviewed some said they wanted to become teachers, others were not sure and when this young lady was interviewed on the first day of her school by a TV channel the program was posted by a Southern Chinese website as to what she intends to become when she grows up.

She was honest, candidly so “I want to become an Official”, she said and when asked further by the interviewer as to what kind of official even he did expected the reply which came “A Corrupt Official, because a corrupt official have a lot of things”.

Children learn from their elders and often when we think that the child is busy in her own world actually they are listening and absorbing all the information and they do not hesitate to use it. She did the same.

Many called it her realistic outlook and praised her for that while many in chat rooms expressed their concern over the rampant corruption in China.

Yeah. She is on to something. Can't beat 'em; join 'em.

It is cute, sad but cute.

Can I point out that this is a real sign of political progress in China? People discuss "corrupt officials" there, and even dare to do it in front of children. And the media, instead of just ignoring or quashing the story, carries it.
