I am refering to the first publicised victim of TV Reality show
Shinjini who is now bedridden on being unable to tolerate the insult handed out to her by the judges. Is it a case of an oversensitive child being pushed into limelight by overambitious parents? Because I strongly believe that children at this age are totally influenced by their parents who would go to any lengths to fulfill their dreams through their talented offsprings.
Emotional blackmail, the regular refrain ,this is for your own good,If you are talented you should show the world your talent,if you earn name, fame and money we all can live comfortably everafter.blah, blah blah
Time to restrain these parents, if the child is talented she will get her due , sooner or later why not wait for approriate time

I don’t really think it’s about parents being ’pushy’ and all. I mean, yes of course, it’s sad to know about the happening - but the projection I guess, is distracting.

It’s rather Shinjini herself being both - ’over-sensitive’ and ’over-ambitious’ - than her parents being ’aggressive’ about her name and fame, or judges being ’harsh’ in giving feed-backs.

So long for her parents, they should have contained her going for such competitions, when they knew already that she was little too extra-emotional to withstand the comments to be given by ’your honours’.

How could the parents stop her taking part in such competitions they themselves encouraged her to do so, as reported by the media it seems she was under treatment for depression and the doctor had told them not to expose her to any untoward incidence. Anyway it is now the child who is suffering along with her parents . Very easy to be judgemental as if they are perfect, if so why don’t we see them on international screen

Hmm.. Today only I heard her parents to be taken under ’scanners’. If the fact is what is reported here - a case of parental pressure - true, it’s an another issue to be thought over for a ’modern’ generation.

Well, I can sight other examples where parents expect their children to be only ”first” in every competition.

And I personally feel that children at this age should not be put under such pressure. It doesn’t matter it its the parents or the judges of the Reality show. We have already seen even grown-ups break-down under such situation. We cannot and shouldn’t expect of all children that they can tolerate such things. There are some children who are matured at a very small age, but what about those who are not.

These shows and competitions harness one very bad thing - crab mentality. On the other hand, all competitions do.

But we can’t help that, can we. It’s Darwinian jungle.

Even now by allowing media to cover the distress of their daughter, parents are trying to catch media attention. They could have taken another path and sued the reality show and its judges...
Some parents never learn...
