No Photographs, No Post Mortem

The photgrapher did not submit the photos so we could not get the postmortem done for nearly a month was the refrain of our esteemed law keepers of our national Capital.

A road accident victim was found on the road by Delhi Police on 25th may. Like the responsible law keepers they took him to the hospital,he had an injury mark on his brow and scratches on his head. Unfortunately the poor man died before regaining conciousness.

As per the norms the body was sent to the mortuary ,and the photographs taken. The next step was supposed to be the post-mortem which could throw a light on the cause of death.

But it seems the Delhi Police motto “With you For You, Always ended there. It conveniently forgot the unidentified body for nearly a month whereas the PM should be conducted within 72 hours.

The constable who was supposedly left to look after the case went off.The Official concerned did not bother to get the identification or the post mortem done.

It was after nearly a month that the body which was now deteriorating was the post mortem done because to register a case one needs a PM report.

The flimsy shocking excuse given for the delay was that the photgraphs of the accident spot were not made available by the photgrapher, really when one can get the prints within 2 hours.

I really feel sorry for the poor man and his family. They must be running from post to pillar and perhaps they would have got a missing report registered. They must be living in hope that maybe one day their loved one will come back.Little do they realise that compassion is one human emotion which perhaps does not have any meaning for some callous law-keepers.

I wonder if we'll ever be able to see our people doing their jobs properly. Name a department and you'll find thousands of corruption or negligence...shame on them.

Work culture has never been a part of Indian culture. We need to over haul the overall system for teaching the people work culture.

This is not professionalism but i wonder if Indians even know how to spell it, leave alone its meaning and implication on day to day basis.

They deal with the terrorists with a stick in the hand or useless bullet proof jackets which fail to prevent one bullet as well...
