Well it was supposed to be a feel-good day outing for the SP MP Jaya Prada to her constituency Rampur from where she had fought and won this election. Her electorate was suffering the ravages of recent floods and what better way to reassure the people that even if they are suffering 24X7 she was there to look after them albeit fleetingly.

It was a smooth and deceptively calm river when she took off in a motor boat to visit Pasiyapur. Two villagers had lost their lives there. When she was crossing Kosi river in the Swar Tanda area the motorboat was caught in strong currents and nearly capsized. Jaya screamed and cried desperately for help. A sobbing Jaya was consoled by her accompanying former SP MLA Shiv Bahadur Saxena and told her she had nothing to fear.

When Jaya insisted on travelling by terra firma he arranged for a bullock cart. But here also misfortune dogged the Star MP One wheel was caught in a ditch on the pot-holed road and nearly overturned. Already jittery Jaya was unable to take this and started howling again.

The final stage of her ill fated journey was completed by a tractor. But not to the pre planned destination that is to her constituency but to take her out of the flood hit area. She left without visiting the flood ravaged areas where villagers are forced to live in sub human conditions. The same area where she had promised to rain all the facilities to make their lives comfortable. Ironically it was the same area where she had threatened to commit suicide if she lost the election.

When she was back in a safe haven than only she remembered her electorate’s miseries. Now she is planning to turn a ‘Woman Of Words’ She is planning to write missives to Prime MInister, Chief Minister asking them to start relief work in that area.

As for roads she is thinking of doing something about them too.

It is indeed a safer way to show your people that you really care, isn’t it Jaya?
