How come every book that is written about rich and famous has something so controversial that it makes it an instant bestseller. There is another one coming up now that is about an alleged love affair between a world famous cricketer and an beautiful impressive politician, both from Pakistan.
Christopher Stanford has written a biography of the cricketer turned politician Imran Khan and how he had an affair with Former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto when they both were studying in Oxford University.
The author has written that Benazir was infatuated with Khan and was possibly in a close and perhaps a “sexual” relationship. He has also roped in Khan’s mother writing that Mrs.Khan wanted a match between the two but of no avail.
Benazir was studying in Lady Margaret hall in 1975 and was only 21 when she came close to Imran Khan. Stanford has also been the one to presume that perhaps Benazir gave Khan his name “Lion of Lahore”.
On what basis is he saying that their relationship might be sexual well he has a flimsy reason because they both were giggling and blushing whenever they appeared together in public and also because as per Oxford’s grapevine “Imran slept with everyone”
This has been quoted in The Telegraph as said by Stanford to Daily Mail. Benazir and Imran were political rivals who could see eye to eye in nearly all matters.
Imran has refuted all these allegations saying that he had not read that book, and nothing written about him is official. He admits however that he was interviewed for that book but the rest of the things about Benazir, his mother is all absolute nonsense. They were both good friends, period.
