Strange coincidence, another story is coming in about another daughter Sunita ( remember Sakshi, the ‘S’ factor seems to be working here) and her father Chandoo Lal.
Sunita was working as a beautician. She is one of the three sisters belonging to a middle class family. She got married to Naveen her coworker nine years ago and has a six year old daughter.
It seems that Naveen lost his job and took to alcohol. Worse he started beating up Sunita on regular basis after getting drunk. He also forced Sunita into prostitution as per the police.
On Friday evening he came home drunk and started abusing his wife.Perhaps it was the last straw which broke the camel’s back.Sunita who was suffering for last few months lost her temper and brought a rollerpin from the kitchen. In a fit of rage she attacked Naveen with a rollerpin and when he fell attacked him with kitchen knife(another chilling similarity) and attacked him in the throat till he died.
Than Sunita changed her dress and to her father’s place which is nearby. She told him that she had a fight with her husband. As it had become routine Chandoolal thought that he will talk to Naveen the next day .
When in the morning he asked Sunita to accompany him she broke down and told him that she had killed Naveen. What a shock it must have been for the father. For a labourer in the nearby shoe factory and with two more unmarried daughters he could do only one thing and he did that. He turned in Sunita. He told the police that though it was a tough decision, but he had to think about his other family members also.He said he knew that Naveen was ill treating his daughter and was forcing her into prostitution. Even though she took this extreme step in a fit of rage the murder was not justified.
Ironically it reminds of Sakshi’s Father, who knew his daughter was wrong and she killed her mother because she was coming in her way of her personal gratification, still he is supporting her by trying to provide legal help.
But Chandoolal was in the know of his daughter’s pathetic conditions but still was unable to support her when she needed it most.
How can one be judgemental in both the incidents? The poor fathers are simply victims of their own circumstances.
