This is the message which is clearly conveyed by the CFG Boss Mike Fennell when he was giving his verdict about the preparation of the Common Wealth games to be held in New Delhi in October 2010. He had come with the Delegates of different countries to check on the state of preparedness of India regarding CWG.

By the way he is the same Fennell who was caught napping during the presentation of India regarding the games, their venues and stadiums. Mr. Fennell had his catnap during the whole presentation and now he has declared that CGF was going to set up a high level Independent Technical Review panel(ITRP) which will meet each month and monitor the progress the CGF was also ready to bear the expenses. So it seems that he had already made up his mind about the dismal progress done by India and having no confidence decided to put ITRP at the helm.

Obviously the Indians are peeved at his action but they themselves are to blame. The OC Chairman Suresh Kalmadi is bending double assuring the CWG head that they will not let CFG down. Now he is planning to draw on the Collective Nationalism and work as Team India to deliver a great Game. Well better late than never.

Our Sports Minister M.S.Gill who compared CWG with the marriage of a daughter said sometime ago that there are many loose ends till the end but the ceremony is always picture perfect. The Chief MInister of Delhi Mrs. Shiela Dixit as usual jumped at the chance of demanding more money from the centre reminding them of their promise to do so.

How come the three top most persons responsible for the CWG are not even least apologetic for the tardy progress and are not resenting the fact that they will be supervised by Westerners in their own country. Isn’t it a matter of shame for everyone.
