Everyone is talking about the totally different reports given for the same Godhra train fire on 25th Feb 2002 by two Supreme Court retd. eminent judges.
Is it because Banerjee Committee was appointed by the Railway Ministry headed by Lalu Prasad Yadav part of UPA government? The report clearly mentions that the fire in S6 coach was accidental not deliberate it was either an electrical fire or fire caused by cigarette butt.
As the doors of any coach cannot be locked from outside the version that petrol was poured in the coach after locking the doors from outside then set on fire is not feasible. In other words it absolves the culprits belonging to the minority community and made Gujarat Government responsible for the total breakdown of law and order situation in its aftermath Report submitted to Railway Ministry.
The Nanawati commission appointed by Gujarat Government clearly states that it was preplanned conspiracy with 140 liter of petrol used to burn the train. It absolved Modi Govt from any discrepancy or lacking in performing their duty. Report submitted to Modi Government.
As per the newspaper reports Nanawati and his son are on MOdi’s most favored list. Maulik Nanawati son of Justie Nanawati was appointed as the standing counsel for the Gujarat State in 2002 the same time as his father was appointed as the head of Godhra Committee.
All the above facts forces one to think whether we are taken for a ride. Six and a years and the actual report on Godhra is no where in sight.
Now what, another commission to sort out the differences of the above two reports, more of taxpayers’ money down the drain, but does anyone cares?

It is quite possible that both reports are partly true.
Commissions of Inquiry are fact finding bodies and their recommendations are not binding on the government. They are not investigating agencies who are tasked to find the culprits and get them punished in a court of law.
