If I had known that this world is so full of pain I would have stayed in my mother’s womb, surely this is what the infant girl must be thinking when she was on the verge of being delivered.
It seems that at a Government Hospital in Delhi, Kumar Nandlal and his wife Nisha had gone there to have their first born delivered. In normal delivery cases the baby’s head comes out first but in this case the baby’s legs came first.
The Gynecologist asked the nurse to pull the baby as the delivery was taking a lot of time. When the infant was pulled out, she slipped from the delivery table and her tiny knee and leg were fractured.
As the baby kept on crying and could not lift her right leg she was taken for an X-ray which revealed that her right leg and knee were broken.
As usual hospital authorities have washed their hands off the whole incident and referred the baby to another hospital claiming they do not have specialists to take care of the baby. For them broken bones in newborns could be signs of autism and osteoporosis.
The doctors of the other hospital after examining the baby said that she would take nearly a year to recover and confirmed the fact that she was pulled out roughly during delivery.
Now the baby is not accepting milk and growing weak day by day. Her tiny leg has been plastered Naturally her parents are distraught. She is their first child. They were looking forward to her birth now they have been left with a year full of sufferings, obviously the parents suffer when their children suffer.
Hospitals are supposed to take away pain not give pain.
How irresponsible of the hospital...
definitely they are not animals to be tested by trial & error
genuine errors can be accepted not the callous attitude or the gross negligence
the indian medical council being sro should take the lead
No action will be taken against them and parents will have to live with the pain
Just because of someone’s carelessness...the baby is suffering right from birth..
Wish babies come out with a default ”Handle with Care” tag..
Wish grownups are more considerate and careful so such incidents do not take place at all.
