Some where the feeling of guilt and a sense of wrongdoing has gone deep into the mind of Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarnor, the 32 year old Malaysian model who was caught drinking beer in a night club by the moral police and was awarded whipping six lashes as a punishment.In Malaysia liquor consumption in public is prohibited by law.

She wants her family members to be there to witness her whipping because she wants to show them her repentance and wants the public punishment because she has brought shame to her family despite having received religious teachings from her parents and wants that this whipping would again lead her to right path.

Moreover she also wants media coverage so that it may prove to be a deterrent for all those who watch her public humiliation so that they may think twice before breaking any law especially consuming alcohol.

As per her she is mentally and physically prepared for the punishment. Her husband however is worried about her health as the punishment will probably be carried out in the month of Ramadan when Muslims observe day long fasts so her stamina will be at the lowest level. But he also respects the court’s decision.
