I am very much with you Veena. I am really feeling bad about what happened. But, I also believe that for every crime that takes place, the larger society is also responsible. What you are talking is theory? Never happens. For women committing crimes, either some bullshit justification is given or another man is punished. In a murder case in US, the husband was murdered by the wife and her lover. Yet only the lover(the man) was punished and the wife was let off!!!

While the man getting punishment is understandable, why was the wife let off??

In practice its only men who get punished whether or not they have done a crime or not. In a dowry case, first the husband is sent to jail and then investigation is done as to whether the complaint is true or false. What kind of a justice system is this?? On investigation, the police realised that she was a high-end, high-class, high-society call girl who had probably charged several Lakhs for sex for 10 days.

I agree with you. It is what we have been raised to believe. Its a general belief. Well, none of us were even born some 40 years back. So, how can I have any evidence? Its just generally believed and we have seen in movies.
