Poor Shorty 5′5″Nicholas Sarkozy is under double pressure, besides being the President for a powerful nation France he is also husband of tall 5′10″ Carla Bruni, a super model turned First Lady, who calls her pint sized husband her little Chou-Chou.

Remember earlier this year, the First French couple met the First American couple the Obamas in the French city of Strasbourg. Now Obama and his wife Michelle both are tall in fact Obama is 6′2″. There is 7″ difference in Obama and Sarkozy’s height. This difference would have been naturally reflected in the photo shoots. So what does Sarkozy do he stood up on his toes trying to cover up, the photographers caught this punitive action on their cameras and it was circulated world wide where everyone made fun of Sarkozy’s action.

This time instead of again taking the same risk, on Saturday’s D Day commemorations in Normandy Sarkozy used a 6″ footstool to stand on with his stacked heels he appeared far more taller than he actually is.

Obviously he knew that he will be sharing the podium with likes of tall Obama, Prince Charles, Gordon Brown, Stephen Harper and the mike would be set according to their heights. He would have looked ridiculous trying to reach the mike for his address, so he used a footstool. As per French TV station Canal Plus he would have looked really ridiculous using the podium set at the level of taller counterparts. No one would have been able to see him except perhaps catch a glimpse of his head bobbing up and down. As per the report people caught on what was happening and there were sniggers from onlookers.

Carla has to wear dowdy flat heels pumps to cover up their height difference, mocked by others and the only thing she is sensitive about is the attack on the pint sized head of State-her husband Nicholas Sarkozy.
