30 Lacs for a Suit-length?

Are we rich? or we are rich. A 30 lacs suitlength to be launched in India, a developing country where even one lac is a dream amount for many and in 30lacs one can easily buy a big house in a small city with money left over.

Digjamm, a S. K. Birla company has tied up with Scottish firm Holland and Sherry to manufacture limited edition of these premium suit lengths. They are targeted at a select few individuals and only 40 mts will be on sale.

The suitlength is created using raw materials such as handpicked meriono wool, cashmere and golden vicuna from all over the globe.

I have some moot questions.
How will the super rich tell everyone that he is wearing “THE SUIT”, Will there be any banner or label proclaiming this fact, because very simple, if no one knows what you are wearing what is the fun in wearing a suit worth a house?

Doesn’t the launch of this more than expensive suit widen the chasm between the has and the has beens? Can you visualize the expression on the face of one who is struggling to make both end meet in this spiraling inflation when you tell him about this suit?

He will think that either I have taken leave of my senses or that I am making fun of him.

The rich will find a way to convey it to others. Some Hindi movie scene would get created saying it all; ”Nonsense, you dropped such and such and spoiled my 30 Lakh’s suit”, or some one else dropping a sarcastic remark on his behalf.

God,such a senseless way of wasting money.

If Yohji Yamamoto can price a dress so fancy that it sells second hand at over $10,000, why shouldn’t an Indian Company design a fabric with handpicked meriono wool, cashmere and golden vicuna for $60,000 a suit length ?

Does this not widen the chasm between the haves and have nots?

Some rich people are just waiting for a reason to spend money on them. Height of Extravagance!
Obviously they don’t want to spend it on have-nots.

Maya,Thanks for the visit and yes it is the unrefutable truth that rich will spend lacs on frivolities but will hesitate to part with their money for any social cause which will not bring them any publicity
